The Agilent / HP 16500A combines the capabilities of a logic state and timing analyzer, a digitizing oscilloscope, a digital pattern generator and a high-speed timing analyzer. Five slots in the rear of the instrument accept cards in mix and match combinations. A simplified user interface provides easy access to powerful features through the 9", touch sensitive color display and front panel knob. Pop-up menus. Two built-in 3" floppy disk drives allow storage of instrument setups and test results. Instant hardcopy output to graphics printers. Fully programmable.

The HP 16500C is the mainframe of the Hewlett-Packard Logic Analysis System. This allows you to configure the HP 16500C using only the modules you need, while giving you the flexibility to change or update later.

The HP 16501A (not included) is the add-on mainframe for expanding the module capacity of the HP 16500C. When the two are connected, they form a single ten-card system that is turned on and controlled by the HP 16500C.

This Agilent / HP 16517A 4-GSa/s Timing and 1-GSa/s Synchronous State Logic Analyzer is used, and in excellent condition.

The Agilent Technologies 16517A Synchronous Timing Analyzer module is part of a family of general-purpose logic analyzers. The 16517A has two timing modes. In full-channel timing mode, data is sampled at up to 2 GHz. In half-channel timing mode, data is sampled at 4 GHz. In the full-channel state mode, a synchronous external clock running at speeds up to 1 GHz can be used as the sample clock. In addition, the sample point can be offset to ensure a sample where you know data is valid. Not only can you sample at the external clock transitions, but you can set the analyzer to oversample, in powers of two, up to 32x, or, up to a maximum of 2 GHz sample rate. Each point of oversampling is precisely distributed evenly within the external clock period.
