Agilent covers the C- and L-Band with its family of Distributed Feedback (DFB) laser source modules 81662A (10dBm) and 81663A (13dBm). The source modules are offered with an output power of 20mW. Special emphasis was put on achieving high wavelength and power stability. The Agilent 81662A and Agilent 81663A DFB Laser Source modules are equipped with a polarization maintaining fiber (PMF) as standard, the PMF is aligned to maintain the state of polarization. The output fiber type is Panda PMF 9/125µm, and the output connector is compatible with APC, ASC and DIN 47265/4108.
The 81662A low power and 81663A high power Distributed Feedback Laser Source Modules are best suited for optical amplifier test and DWDM system test applications.
The DFB modules can be fully controlled via keypad or GPIB by Agilent's 8166A Multichannel System hosting up to 17 modules, 8164 Lightwave Measurement System or 8163A Multimeter. All modules designed for these mainframes, including power meters, return loss modules, fixed sources, compact and high performance tunable laser modules, and DFB source modules can be used in any combination.
A distributed feedback (DFB) laser is a highly-coherent laser source that emits radiation in a narrow spectral width. The Agilent Technologies range of DFB laser source modules may be tuned within a specific wavelength range, the current wavelength is displayed on the user interface of your mainframe. The wavelength of he ITU channel your module supports is displayed on he front panel.
